Optimizing root development and tuber formation
Quality problems and yield losses are major challenges during periods of extreme drought and exceptionally high temperatures. According to climatologists, we will increasingly face extreme wet, dry, cold, and hot conditions. Preparing as a grower for these situations is difficult, but there are tools available to optimize root development and tuber formation.
Promoter for root development and tuber formation
A strong and healthy root system enables a plant to absorb more nutrients from the soil. In addition, it contributes to a resilient crop that can recover more quickly after periods of stress. Root is a special combination of fertilizers, growth stimulators, and vitamins designed to stimulate root growth, tuber formation, and shoot development.
By applying this specialty fertilizer shortly before or directly during planting (7 L/ha in-furrow or 10 L/ha as a full-field application), the crop receives a strong start and root and tuber formation are promoted.
Practical trials have also shown that it is highly effective to apply a foliar spray of 4 L/ha Root around the 10 cm growth stage. This gives the potato crop an extra boost and further stimulates tuber formation.
Root is enriched with plant-strengthening components such as seaweed extracts, amino acids, and vitamins that support the plant during periods of abiotic stress. It supplies the plant with essential elements for balanced growth and optimal stress protection.
Root is a true all-round product and, in addition to potatoes, can also be used effectively in various other crops.
