Leaf-NPK+
Most important nutrients
Supporting nutrients
Stimulates and supports growth!
Optima Leaf NPK+ is a liquid NPK leaf fertiliser (8-17-9) enriched with trace elements, amino acids, fulvic acids and seaweed extract. The nutrients in Optima Leaf NPK+ improve growth and reduce susceptibility to abiotic stress.
Optima Leaf NPK+ includes high levels of phosphate and seaweed extracts, two components that act synergistically on root growth and activity. Application of Optima Leaf NPK+ enables the crop to make better use of the fertilisers supplied to the soil, even under less favourable soil and climate conditions.
Optima Leaf-NPK+ ensures a good start for the crop. It is also effective for colouring crops. It helps to keep crops healthy and vital if fertilisation via the roots is not optimal, for example in case of root stress and wet or cold conditions.
Benefits of Optima Leaf-NPK+
Complete foliar fertiliser with trace elements and added amino acids.
Stimulates plants at key growth and development stages such as rooting, flowering and fruit setting.
Improves yield and quality.
When to apply
During leaf development and in the crop’s key growth and development stages, when the demand for nitrogen, phosphate and potassium is high and nutrient uptake via the roots is temporarily suboptimal.
Optima Leaf-NPK+ is applied from emergence onwards, in repeated applications, to support growth, colour, vitality, yield and quality.
Particularly relevant:
- In cases of root stress;
- Under cold or wet conditions;
- During crucial growth stages such as root development, vegetative growth, flowering and fruit set;
- When the crop requires extra energy and nutrients in addition to soil fertilisation.
Functions of nitrogen
- Structure of amino acids and proteins
Nitrogen forms the basis of proteins → essential for virtually all growth and development processes. - Component of chlorophyll
Crucial for photosynthesis; without sufficient nitrogen, the plant can barely convert light into energy. - Growth of above-ground biomass
Stimulates leaf growth, stem growth and general vegetative development. - Component of enzymes and coenzymes
Helps regulate biochemical processes such as energy production and nutrient uptake. - Component of nucleic acids (DNA/RNA)
Essential for cell division, genetic information and new tissue formation. - Improvement of sap flow and transport processes
Supports the transport of water, sugars and minerals through the plant. - Influencing fruit quality and yield
A good nitrogen balance ensures optimal fruit size and yield (but too much has a negative effect). - Colour and general vitality of the plant
Sufficient nitrogen ensures dark green foliage and a healthy appearance.
Functions of phosphorus
- Energy transfer (ATP production)
Phosphorus is a component of ATP, the energy carrier in cells. Without P, a plant cannot store or use energy. - Root development
Stimulates the formation of strong, deep roots and more root hairs → improved nutrient and water uptake. - Early plant growth
Promotes a vigorous start and faster development of young plants and seedlings. - Flowering and fruit set
Essential for bud formation, flowering, fruit set and seed formation. - Photosynthesis and sugar formation
Plays a role in the conversion and transport of sugars within the plant. - Cell division and DNA/RNA formation
Phosphorus is a component of nucleic acids → essential for growth, cell division and all genetic processes. - Strengthening of plant structure
Supports the production of phospholipids in cell membranes → improved cell structure and stress resistance.
Functions of potassium
-
- Regulates water balance
- Controls the opening and closing of stomata.
- Improves drought tolerance through more efficient water use.
- Activates hundreds of enzymes
- Essential for enzymes involved in photosynthesis, respiration and protein synthesis.
- Promotes photosynthesis and energy transport
- Plays a major role in the formation and transport of assimilates (sugars) within the plant.
- Improves stress resistance
- Increases tolerance to drought, cold and salt stress, amongst other things.
- Optimises cell elongation and firmness
- Helps maintain turgor pressure, resulting in strong, firm cells.
- Stimulates root growth and nutrient uptake
- Improves the uptake of other nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphate.
- Enhances fruit quality
- Improves flavour, size, firmness, colour and shelf life.
- Regulates water balance
